About Us

Kia Janeen Smith is on a mission to help children embrace the beauty of their individuality. Through the power of creative storytelling Kia strives to bring light into the lives of those who might be facing problems with self- identity or self -esteem.

Essentially, the author created Lalibella the Ladybug to be a character with substance and that would empower the youth through positivity. Smith went on to create other characters who inspired her to create a children’s book. 

She believes that her story will encourage all individuals—from different

backgrounds—to come together and celebrate the dimensions of diversity.

Kia feels this is key to making the world a better place. The author’s next big step is to animate Lalibella the Ladybug, so that families everywhere can join her adventures in a more engaging way. 

Along with her creative storytelling, Smith was inspired spiritually to build a fashion brand that strives to be meaningful for young girls to believe in-- in turn helping them to believe in themselves.

 As an Author and Fashion Designer, her goal is to be an agent of positive change through movement of her brand and children storybooks.
